[edit]Hi Clarissagum, thank you for submitting your grant application. After reviewing your grant proposal, we have some questions to learn more about the project and planned activities.
- While the project focus is clear and significant, I couldn't find any details about how specifically you plan to reach the goals.
- Could you please provide more information on how specifically you plan to find and add missing free licensed photos of African musicians?
- How will you ensure that the contest participants will have relevant free licensed photos to upload to Wikimedia Commons?
- How will you make sure that these images are free licensed?
- Are you planning to partner with any specific organizations, groups, or individuals to acquire free licensed photos regarding the African musicians?
- I noticed that you don't have any contributions to Wikimedia Commons. Do you have any team members who have more experience with Wikimedia Commons and can support you during implementing the project? Please note that we will not be able to move forward with the project unless you have experienced team members or advisors.
- Aside from notifying on the discussion page of Wikimedia User Group Nigeria, have you informed other community members on other platforms? Have you discussed this proposal with other community members or local affiliates?
- Who are the contest reviewers? Could you please provide their usernames?
- Given the project scope we request that you reduce the prizes and social media promotion budgets by half.
Looking forward to hearing from you soon. Thanks for your time, DSaroyan (WMF) (talk) 15:32, 29 April 2022 (UTC)

[edit]- DSaroyan (WMF), thanks for asking, below are the answers to the questions.
- Firstly, some of the musicians' photos have already been uploaded to Wikimedia Commons, but not added to the appropriate articles; the participants will search for the already existing photos on Wikimedia Commons and add it to the appropriate article on Wikipedia. Secondly, the missing free licensed photos of the musicians will be uploaded to Wikimedia Commons from YouTube videos marked "Creative Commons Attribution license (reuse allowed)" and Flickr photos marked "CC BY 2.0" and "CC BY-SA 2.0". Participants will be provided with helpful hints on how to find the free licensed photos on the websites indicated and upload it to Wikimedia Commons, because most of the musicians' photos uploaded to Wikimedia Commons are from there.
- No, I'm not planning to partner with any specific organizations, groups, or individuals to acquire free licensed photos.
- Godstime Elijah and Bukky658 are the team members who have more experience with Wikimedia Commons and they'll also serve as the contest reviewers.
- I've now informed Igbo Wikimedians User Group, Hausa Wikimedians User Group and Yoruba Wikimedians User Group.
- Yes, I have reduced the prizes and social media promotion budgets by half as requested. Thanks. Clarissagum (talk) 15:52, 3 May 2022 (UTC)
