Hello, Bijay chaurasia, thank you for submitting this comprehensive report and for all your hard work put into the Wiki Loves Villages project. Congratulations on achieving all your goals for this grant and on the quality images you uploaded to Wikimedia Commons! I have the following questions and comments:

  • You had mentioned that you collaborated with a team of professional photographers. How did you reach out and collaborate with them?
  • One of your learnings from this project was the idea to transform Wiki Loves Villages into a photo contest. Why do you think that as a photo contest Wiki Loves Villages will be more successful?
  • We’re pleased to hear that there have been 1000 images from different rural municipalities of Nepal. Do you have any plans to increase the usage of these photos on other Wikimedia projects?
  • We’re happy that some participants are eager to have a separate Marwari Wikipedia. Are you planning any activity to increase their involvement in this process?

Thank you again for all the awesome work you do for the Wikimedia movement. I have reviewed your expense documentation and final report and accepted both. Your grant is now complete! Best regards, DSaroyan (WMF) (talk) 05:39, 19 December 2019 (UTC)Reply

Hello DSaroyan (WMF), thank you for the questions. Here are the answers to the following questions. Please have a look.

[1] Yes, we did collaboration with the team of professional photographers. I connected them through a closed facebook group- Nepalese Photographers, where I am also a member of that group. The facebook group has tons of photographers and few of them are mine, good friends. We flooded our project idea with them in such way. We are also planning to collaborate with them for Wiki love Earth, Wiki Loves Monuments and other photography contests.

[2] We belive in making WLV like a photo contest will gain more audience, photographers and newbies from different parts of Nepal. IMO, we can cover more places of Nepal making WLV as a photo contest as we see photography teams are willing to help in this project. We really want to learn ourselves doing differently next time with this project.

[3] Photo-edit-a-thon is the best way to increase the usage of those photographs on other Wikimedia projects. As soon as possible I am planning to do this kind of program which helps other editors to use the existing photographs of the WLV project as well as other programs in different Wikimedia projects.

[4] We are also planning to create awareness campaigns and training for the speakers of the Marwari Language. Thank you --Bijay chaurasia (talk) 15:59, 21 December 2019 (UTC)Reply
