Add topicFortifying Wikipedia’s Credibility
[edit]Some individuals are questioning Wikipedia's integrity; this project will highlight the significance of verifiability in Wikipedia articles, train participants on how to cite references for their edits, demonstrating how articles should rely on credible sources to substantiate their edits on Wikipedia. I'll be physically present throughout the project, taking on the role of a facilitator to provide hands-on guidance. Abdullahalaba (talk) 09:14, 6 September 2023 (UTC)
Bridging Knowledge Gap
[edit]Ogbomosho, a historical community in Oyo State, Nigeria, boasts a rich tapestry of cultural and historical legacies. Engaging the minds of intellectual and academic circles, particularly the numerous Higher Institutions of Learning within the Ogbomosho community, is vital to address the current dearth of knowledge and awareness of Ogbomosho's local history, cultural practices, landmarks, and notable individuals on Wikipedia. As a facilitator, I will play a pivotal role in ensuring the success of the project by spearheading the online sessions. Taoheedah (talk) 09:20, 6 September 2023 (UTC)

Nurturing Meaningful Contributions on Wikipedia Platform

As a facilitator, I will provide in-person guidance and support for the new and existing editors as they make meaningful contributions to the Wikimedia Space. Partially Funded
[edit]Hello @Taofeeq Abdulkareem thank you for applying for the rapid fund grant. We reviewed and approved the grant in the amount of 1,290,000.00 NGN ($1,677 USD) with the following comments:
- We recommend that the team reviews the budget line items related to promotional materials, food and beverages, and data support. Consider a projection for a smaller and more manageable group of participants.
- Your proposal provides a clear overview of your project, outlining the objectives, activities, and team members. However, you can enhance the clarity further by breaking down the detailed activities into smaller, actionable steps. For example, specify the types of content to be added to Wikimedia Commons, and the nature of improvements you are seeking to make on Wikidata. Providing more detailed descriptions of these aspects will give a clearer picture of your project's scope.
Best of luck with your project!

I see you plan to make new users edit Wikipedia. Have you considered making them start with some assisted editing? For example OAbot is a tool to quickly edit references. It's educational on multiple fronts (templates, reliable sources, systemic bias, copyright) and can make the participants feel some sense of accomplishment quite quickly.
