Hello NanaYawBotar, thanks for submitting this grant request. The WikiForHumanRights review team has reviewed your grant request and here is our feedback and questions.

This proposal builds upon the 2023 Wiki-Green conference by inviting new and past participants to join the 2024 WikiForHumanRights campaign. The conference's work has great potential to bring knowledge experts and contributors to Wikimedia projects, fostering additional content creation.

The Wiki-Green Conference's unique approach differentiates it from other local WikiForHumanRights activities. It elevates Wikimedia projects as learning tools for local communities. The proposal describes how the conference leverages strategic conversations to reach beyond the usual audience. It includes the important perspectives of the indigenous population. We think that this innovative approach fills a gap in African WikiForHumanRights campaigns. It joins other activities in employing impactful tactics to initiate important discussions to increase understanding and participation related to the campaign theme.

We commend the team on the inclusion of People Living With Disability (PLWD) and traditional chiefs in conference activities. Additionally, we appreciate the efforts to empower the local community to build knowledge in their native languages through collaboration with the Wikimedia community and the Twi Department of Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology.

Question:

  • The proposal mentions audio recordings. Could you please clarify their intended purpose? Will they be narrations of translated articles, or something else?

We made a decision to fully fund this grant request in the amount of 64,384 GHS (4954.35 USD). We wish you all the best with your upcoming project! Best regards, --DSaroyan (WMF) (talk) 08:33, 8 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
