Follow-up questions/ comments[edit]

Hello @Agus Damanik,

Thank you for putting in a grant application.

For documentation purposes, I am also including your previous grant application and final report:

For this application, we'll like to share the following:

1) Could you also share the google link to your proposed budget and timeline document for the project? This link (from your application) is also not opening well. Could you check and repost? https://id.wikimedia.org/wiki/Rapat_Komunitas/Dokumentasi_aktivitas_GSF23

2) After your project, do the local communities you work with continue to carry out activities in this area? Do you have an example of two to share?

Separately, thank you for supporting many of your Indonesian community members to access resources for their project. Would you be able to share how do you decide whether a community/peer is ready to apply for rapid fund grant or continue to access support from micro grants from Wikimedia Indonesia? Also, how do you guide your peers in the grant writing/ project formulation process? This is not grant related and is an observation of the additional role you voluntarily take on to support your community.

Thank you.

Regards, Jacqueline

@JChen (WMF): Sorry for this mishap. I just realize i do so many mistake cause of the rushed proposal.

Below is the link about what i left:

2. This project was continued in microgrant from Wikimedia Indonesia called Sedelinggam Project (https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Wikimedia_Indonesia/Dana_Wiki/GSF23_Permohonan_Komunitas_Wikisource_Indonesia) and also in recently funded (https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Grants:Programs/Wikimedia_Community_Fund/Rapid_Fund/Wiki_Lat%C3%A8yan_(ID:_22584187)) by incorporate it into expert wikisource workshop in this project.

I will clarify, this opinion is from my personal opinion. I believe that the person that support and consulted with me at least already handle microgrant from WMID, but with notes that all their project for the rapid grant never overlapped with what WMID can support. For example, if they want to make workshop and offline meeting that can be supported by WMID, i will not recommended them to apply for the rapid grant, though maybe a few people apply rapid grant for this thing cause the limited slot that given by wikimedia indonesia recently, cause of the limited budget. Other than that, i will strongly suggested the community to apply rapid grant if they want to do travel inter province cause WMID not giving grant for this case of travel. There is a few grant that strongly connected with my consultation, but not all the grant is consulted with me also and i think and believe they already have more capability or understand enough of the process especially after community meeting that held by WMID to popularize this grant for all the community.

I recommend them to based all the cost for the budget by WMID standard and if they wanted remuneration, i encourage them to put average rate of their region cause sometimes i believe arrange the travel, budgeting, report and making a survey cost their work times. Though, i give them freedom to ask for remuneration or not with a note that never ask remuneration so big that it just not very worth it with your output that you give to WMF. Your grant application has been approved[edit]

Hello @Agus Damanik,

Congratulations! Your grant application has been approved in the amount of IDR 74,600,000 from 1 September 2024 to 31 January 2025. With this approved amount, do submit a revised budget by adding tabs to your existing spreadsheet and labelling it revised. Please reply to this talkpage message once the adjustments have been made.

Let’s continue having regular conversations over the course of your grant implementation. Please let me know if you require support in any way or would like to share your experiences with a wider community through the Let's Connect Programme or at ESEAP community meetings.

Note on grant funding amount

In your award letter/email, you may observe that the USD equivalent may be different from that floating exchange rate on Oanda. This is because (at the moment) we apply a pre-determined exchange rate for each grant as determined by the WMF Finance team. Hence the local currency amount had to be adjusted.

We know even the best thought through plans may change.

In the event that there are changes to your implementation schedule, you can reach out to request for a grant extension (i.e. extend end date). Similarly, if there is a surplus budget or changes to your planned budget, you can reach out to me about reallocation (via email and on this talkpage). There is also the option to have the unspent funds deducted against a future grant. More details here: https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Grants:Return_unused_funds_to_WMF

Disbursement of Funds

To facilitate the funds disbursement process, we seek your prompt response on Fluxx and via emails with the WMF Grants Administrator team (grantsadmin@wikimedia.org). We highly encourage you to submit all supporting documents and endorse the grant agreements within the stipulated time frame. When in doubt, proactively reach out to the WMF Grants Administration team and copy your programme officer.

Additional resources which may be useful

We thank you for your participation in the grant application process and hope to continue to journey with you as you embark on this project. Good luck!
