Using the content in my slide

[edit]

@Shouston (WMF):Thank you for the page and indication, we are having a workshop discuss how a grant process should be with the community organizers in Taiwan. So I used the material in this page to create a session, here is the draft of my slide (sorry it's in Traditional Chinese since the target audience of this slide are Taiwanese). Feel free to comment. --Liang(WMTW) (talk) 09:40, 12 January 2017 (UTC)Reply

@Shangkuanlc:: Hi Liang, sorry for the late response - I just saw your message. I'm glad this page was helpful to you! Could you let me know which slides I should look at in your presentation? I can use google translate for the words I don't know :) -- Shouston (WMF) (talk) 00:59, 18 January 2017 (UTC)Reply
@Shouston (WMF):Thank you for the reply. We have completed the event a couple days ago -- last Sunday to be exact. So no need to review this slide now. :D --Liang(WMTW) (talk) 16:55, 18 January 2017 (UTC)Reply
@Shangkuanlc: Ack! I'm so sorry it took me so long to respond :( But I did take a read through the entire thing and I thought it conveyed all the information well, so awesome job! -- Shouston (WMF) (talk) 19:01, 23 January 2017 (UTC)Reply
@Shouston (WMF): That's OK, we all deserve some more time, I appreciate your encouragement. Thank you for incubating these wonderful resources & wish you a happy Chinese New Year! --Liang(WMTW) (talk) 14:36, 27 January 2017 (UTC)Reply

Generic title

[edit]

The title is too generic. Maybe it should be "2017 metrics" or something like that, since metrics proposed by the WMF grants people change frequently. If this page supersedes Global metrics, which is another very generic name, notices and/or moves may be in order. --Nemo 10:44, 18 April 2017 (UTC)Reply

Newly registered users

[edit]

Question recently came up in relation to phab:T231780. The definition of this metric says "The number of participants that create new accounts on a Wikimedia project. These include users who register up to two weeks before the start of the event." Historically we have considered someone a new user only when they create their first Wikimedia account. The definition however also allows for the interpretation that you are a newly registered user when you later create an account on another Wikimedia project.

As a concrete example: if you have been an sv.wiki user for a couple of months but as a result of WLM you create a Wikimedia Commons account, are you then a newly registered user for the purpose of this metric? /André Costa (WMSE) (talk) 07:32, 2 September 2019 (UTC)Reply
