Night mode for the UI and adding side panel for the topics that will display the content in a fixed text field

[edit]

I suggest you go with a night mode for the page. The darker theme for the page will make it easier to read at night. For the sections of the page, I suggest to put a fixed side panel which will contain the list of topics of the current page/article. When the user clicks on a topic from the side panel, the content of the topics will be displayed in a text field which would probably be fixed in the middle of the page. This way, the content will look concise. Currently, when you select a topic from the list of contents and you get redirected st a certain section. If your article is long, it looks tedious to the user to scroll through so much text. A side panel and text field approach will make the reading look concise since only one topic will be displayed at a time.

Suggested page format: Title of the article, Summary, Fixed left side panel of the topics | Fixed text box in the middle | Retain the current right side panel, Footnote which contains the references
