Report accepted, with feedback
[edit]Hi CFCF,
Thanks for submitting this final report. Since you and I have had the opportunity to discuss it extensively in recent check-ins, I'm going to limit my feedback here to capturing just a few major points.
- First of all, congratulations on a successful project! It is great to see you exceeding your long-term targets in the service of organizing the community to make more medical information accessible in more languages of Wikipedia. I hope you're as proud of these accomplishments as we are :)
- Moving away from single-language integrators and towards either single-language teams or multi-language integrators (based on community sizes/needs) instead makes good sense, and I've been glad to see you develop new strategies as you learn more from each experiment along the way.
- In terms of the short-term goals, having 80% of new translations now being integrated is also a useful accomplishment, even as the target moves from your original vision. As your project goes forward, it will be good to start to define better ways to look at time between each step of the process, so I'm glad to see you thinking about how you measure efficiency as part of your renewal request.
- Over the course of this project I had the opportunity to observe you learn a lot about what communication tools and strategies work best in this community...community organizing is an art and we're all always fine-tuning it. Thanks for documenting some of this in your learning pattern about mass messaging!
- In terms of what didn't work, doing it all by yourself is something many project leaders attempt and ultimately find unsustainable, so I really appreciate you documenting this as well. I can see that the guides and other infrastructure making it easier to get people involved is a good start for moving away from this. I can also see that there's still a way to go for this project to sustain without you, particularly where outreach+organizing of integrators is concerned, so we look forward to continuing to discuss this with you and considering your renewal request for the next phase of this project.
I'm accepting this report today, but we won't mark your IEG as complete until a decision has been made on your renewal. Please hold on to the remaining balance of your grant until that decision is finalized. If/when the renewal is approved, we can just go ahead and roll over the remaining funds into the new phase of your IEG.
Best wishes and congratulations again on these recent fruitful months! Siko (WMF) (talk) 21:53, 1 June 2015 (UTC)
