Outcome
[edit]- Option 3: New Creation: What was one useful outcome of the event for the Wikimedia movement?
- People got involved to volunteer on Wikipedia as can be seen by the number of people registered. With Dfavro, I have started to build a bot Framework with lua primarily for Wikipedia. Building a bot's framework is not a work of few weeks, it will take sometime to get it up and running and till we publish the code on Github. The bot that we made during the workshop is currently serves the only purpose to fetch errors on Wikipedia as a "reader"; it cannot "edit" as can be seen on the video below. However, we are working to clear up the code and publicize it on Github for more people to get involved. Apart from this, I have plans to do workshops on Lua locally in January 2017.
