Proposed participation

At this event I will be presenting on how to champion local contents through free and open softwares that are accessible to all who require its use. The presentation will lead to mentioning of free and open tools such as Wikipeddia and other Wikimedia Projects. During the breakout sessions, i will host a Wikimedia Clinic that will run participants through Wikipedia an its sister projects.

Goal and expected impact

  • Promote the use of Wikipedia and its sister projects.
  • Recruit new editors
  • Establish the existence of the Wikimedia Ghana Usergroup
  • Extend the reach of the Usergroup in the country

  • Travel (roundtrip from Tema to Accra) = GHS 20
  • Food = GHS 30
  • T-shirts = GHS20
  • Total = GHS 70 (self financed)

With the experience he has with the Wikimedia and its related sister projects, it will go a long way to bring new people on board to help elevate local content from Ghana.
