Proposed participation

[edit]

I founded a non-profit organization, namely Predestined Future Global Leaders to expand livelihood opportunities for poor rural households, to transform and improve the quality of South Africa and Africa’s basic, secondary and higher education for social justice, through the offering of free quality education to almost a thousand students via our online platform, http://www.predestinedfglacademy-32.webself.net . It is for this purpose that I was selected by Preparing Global Leaders and the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration, awarded 40% scholarship based on competition to attend the 23–29 August 2016 summit. Preparing Global Leaders presents an opportunity for networking, collaboration, further development, and expansion of my non-profit organization's free educational project, by establishing ambassadors globally.

Goal and expected impact

[edit]

My participation in the 2016 Preparing Future Global Leaders’ Summit will ensure an increase and expansion of Wikimedia and Wikipedia usage and editing, by advocating its importance and benefits to peers at and during the summit. My goal is to write blogs and share contents on the following courses which I stand to benefit by attending the Summit:

  • Effective Negotiation
  • Charisma and Public Speaking
  • Strategic and Creative Thinking
  • Persuasive Presentations
  • Speech-writing
  • Marketing/Branding/Advertising,

thus empowering and engaging my colleagues to give their own perspective on the leadership program, current and past in Wikimedia, and this is in line with the mission of the Wikimedia Foundation. That is, to empower and engage people around the world to collect and develop educational content under a free license or in the public domain, and to disseminate it effectively and globally.
