Request changes

[edit]

We understand that sometimes plans change. Please use this button to request approval for changes to your grant’s budget while your project is in progress. Any variation of 20% or more to any line item in your budget must be approved by staff here before you make the change (for projects with budgets of $15,000 or more, the accepted variance is 10%).

Budget change request

[edit]

According to the final report, the project used almost exactly half of the funds, therefore the other half of it remained unspent. Wikimedia Hungary would request to reallocate the unspent funds from this project to a follow-up project with the same scope, which is described on the Timeline page.

Rationale

[edit]

The budget of the extended project is planned similarly as the original proposal:

  1. Community and project management / project coordination: 600,000 HUF
  2. Contractors (research, software development, tutorials): 1,300,000 HUF
  3. State taxes of the contracts: 1,127,633 HUF
  4. Events (event space + Covid-19 tests): 376,591 HUF

The project would like to solve several long-standing problems, which could not be solved on volunteer base in the last decade. Therefore, it is planned to offer several small, occasional contracts in order to ensure realization of the plans. Other costs are not significant, because material costs are usually not required. We are not sure if we will be able to realize in-person events, but it would probably require to offer free Covid-19 testing.

Note: Wikimedia Hungary plans to co-finance its editor retention program in 2021 and 2022. Beside this fund applied at the WMF (3.4 million HUF), over 4 million HUF is planned in the chapter's budget over this 12 month period for its programmatic activities.

We hope that you will be able to support our request and we can continue working on the program. On behalf of the Board of Wikimedia Hungary, kind regards, Samat (talk) 21:11, 31 May 2021 (UTC)
