Goals
[edit]Did you meet your goals? Are you happy with how the project went?
- We are happy to have surpassed our goals. 30 people registered for the contest and 25 out of thirty participated. This resulted in 7267 articles improved with photos on en-wikipedia over a two-month period. We exceeded our target outcome of 1000 with 6267. We were also able to engage new editors, 3 of whom are in the top five Contributors and 1, in the top 10 Contributors. This is impressive given the challenges encountered in the contest and the fact that the hub is still very much young.

Learning
[edit]Projects do not always go according to plan. Sharing what you learned can help you and others plan similar projects in the future. Help the movement learn from your experience by answering the following questions:
- What worked well?
- The two month period adopted for the contest was an advantage for the participants. It presented them with more time, convenient and accommodating to participate at their own pace. More importantly, it was enough time to get participants who were not initially motivated in the beginning of the contest to step up to activeness during the contest timeline.
- What did not work so well?
- One of the challenges experienced nationally and globally in the 2021 WPWP campaign was the incorrect placement of images and captions on Wikipedia Pages by some of the participants. Some participants from our hub were implicated in this situation and as such, were advised to suspend participation for a period of time. In a bid to address this issue, we organized a one-day physical meet up, not originally planned in the project, with the concerned participants in order to guide them in cleaning up their mistakes where applicable.
- What would you do differently next time?
- Given that the hub is still young and members still have more wiki-skills to learn, we would love to make it a physical event in the future. This was not the case in this year's edition due to security challenges experienced in the state as at the time of the contest.
