Learning
[edit]Projects do not always go according to plan. Sharing what you learned can help you and others plan similar projects in the future. Help the movement learn from your experience by answering the following questions:
- What worked well?
- Providing free internet subscription throughout the duration of the events and on participant devices after the event made participants to fully participate in creating and editing articles.
- Assigning participants to mentors(experienced editors) in-between event days encouraged participants to be more engaged thus making us achieve and exceed our targets.
- What did not work so well?
- Trying so hard to engage participants in Benin Republic and Ogun State, Nigeria proved difficult. Being new to Wikimedia projects, Most of the online participants complained of poor internet connection when connecting to Zoom that was made available to them.
- What would you do differently next time?
- I would organize a different edition of WikiActivate Gungbe in the future for Ogun State participants and Benin Republic participants.
