Activities

[edit]

Tell us how you'll carry out your project. Be sure to answer the following questions:

1. Are you doing one editathon or training or a series of editathons or trainings?

I plan to organize two series of training sessions and one edit-a-thon

2. How will you let your community know about the event? Please paste links below to where relevant communities have been notified of your proposal, and to any other relevant community discussions.

I have contacted National Broadcast Academy an arm of Federal radio Corporation of Nigerian to serve as institutional partner for this project.
I have notified Wikimedia community in Nigeria about this training to seek the support of members of the community in organizing the event via its meta page

3. Do you have experienced Wikimedia editors to lead the event?

Yes, i have contacted experienced Wikimedians in Nigeria community and they have shown interest in supporting the program. Some of the contacted Wikimedians are:
  1. User: Olaniyan Olushola
  2. User: T Cells
  3. User: Kaizenify

4. Do participants have the equipment or skills needed to participate and contribute high quality content? If not, how will you support them?

The participants are students of National Broadcast Academy of Nigeria who are newbies, they do not currently have skills needed to participate and contribute high quality contents. So, with guidance from myself and the experienced Wikimedians listed above we will provide the necessary support needed to mentor and train the target audience to contribute high quality contents.

5. How will you engage participants after the event(s)?

I will create a whatApp group to engage, monitor activities of the participants and also help in address likely editing issues that might arise after the event.

6. Are you running any in-person events or activities? If so, you will need to complete the steps outlined on the Risk Assessment protocol related to COVID-19. When you have completed these steps, please provide a link to your completed copy of the risk assessment tool below:

The event will be organized as an in person event, i therefore share below the risk assessment sheet for the event:
