Learning

[edit]

Projects do not always go according to plan. Sharing what you learned can help you and others plan similar projects in the future. Help the movement learn from your experience by answering the following questions:

  • What worked well?

We were able to engage the active participants both online and physically and disbursed data to them and this encouraged them to contribute more.

  • What did not work so well?

The terrible internet connection (there was a moblie communication ban in some states in Northern Nigeria), our traiining sessions was virtual, this made us had multiple classes where the same things were taught. It also made the sessions expensive, boring and frustrating. Some Participants are University Students, the contest fell into the period when they had examinations were on going. This affected their contributions.

  • What would you do differently next time?

Adequately plan ahead, I would ensure that trainings and recruiting of new editors will be done weeks before the contests begins. It is imporatant to create an abenue where participants are motivated, this will make them participate in the contest with a competitive mind.
