Movement Strategy Implementation Grant Report
Accepted

Please review the notes below before submitting your report.

Your draft implementation plan document should address the following questions clearly:

  • What movement strategy initiative or goal are you addressing?
  • What activities will you be doing to address that initiative?
  • What do you expect will happen as a result of your activities? How do those outcomes address the movement strategy initiative?
  • How will you measure or evaluate your activities? What tools or methods will you use to evaluate your activities?

To create a draft implementation plan, we recommend the use of a logic model, which will help you and your team think about goals, activities, outcomes, and other factors in an organized way. Please refer the following resources to develop a logic model:

Outcomes

[edit]

Please respond to the following questions below:

Where have you published your draft plan? Share the link to it here:

  • Our plan was published along with our grant proposal (see link). Our project for capacity development for underrepresented communities (CDUC) was a project aimed at reaching out to underrepresented communities in order to get them involved in the Wikimedia movement. We worked with two types of the underrepresented communities:
  1. speakers of speakers of endangered minority languages, and
  2. users of sign languages.

Our project covers the Aromanian-speaking and Romani-speaking communities in Macedonia, as well the people with hearing loss in Macedonia, who use the Macedonian Sign Language.

The project has been held in the period from 1 June 2022 to 31 January 2023, and it was consisted of three phases: Research, Implementation and Evaluation.

What Movement Strategy initiative is this draft plan supporting?

  • 38. Content initiatives in underrepresented communities. Our project included activities aimed at reaching out to the Aromanian-speaking and Romani-speaking communities in order to build Wikipedia communities which would sustain the growth of the Aromanian Wikipedia and the Balkan Romani Wikipedia in the long run. In addition, we planned to reach out to and created open knowledge for the community of people with hearing loss which uses the Macedonian Sign Language.

What activities have you completed to produce this draft plan?

  • All the activities that was completed during the grant proposal you can find further explained on the report for our Implementation phase of the grant.

In which community channels have you announced your draft plan?

  • We have used standard communication channels, as home wiki of the Aromanian Wikipedia, but also our project was promoted, especially during Research phase, on social media (i.e. Facebook), where we reached out to the Aromanian-speaking and Romani-speaking communities. Additionally, we found local partners for both communities, which helped during this phase to spread the word to their members. People with hearing loss, we contacted through our interpreter, who helped us a lot in finding interested participants and even involved state school, where we filmed their videos.

Finances

[edit]

Grant funds spent

[edit]

As per our grant proposal, our budget was divided on three phases. Please find a link to our financial report for all kinds of costs that arise during three phases.

Remark: two costs which are underlined in the report is still pending to be paid.

Remaining funds

[edit]

We have remaining funds in total amount for 1.172,52 EUR, as we did not have any participants on the organized editing contest for Romani people on their Wikipedia, which is still in incubator, and we did not realize funds for printing, at least not in that extensive way, and for printing we also use the funds from contingency fees.

We would like to decrease these funds from second installment for our user group Shared Knowledge, as Shared Knowledge need to receive second installment from the Wikimedia Community Fund for our Annual Plan 2023.

The funds remaining from this grant in the amount of 1.172,52 EUR were deducted from another grant payment for Grants:Programs/Wikimedia Community Fund/Shared Knowledge Annual Plan 2023.
