There are more than 150 colleges of education in nigeria but query on wikidata returns just 3 results. In addition to these there are more than 100 polytechnics but a query on wikidata returns 28 results. I plan to organise an editathon and training to improve the content on wikidata

3. How will you let participants know about the edit-a-thon? In what ways will you be communicating with them?
For example, these can include on-wiki spaces, social media channels, mailing lists, messaging apps, or physical/online gatherings.

I will use whatsApp, twitter and facebook.

4. Do you have experienced Wikimedia editors to lead the event? Please provide links to the usernames of these individuals.

5. Do participants have the equipment or skills needed to participate and contribute high quality content? If not, how will you support them?

Yes, some participants have laptops and are experienced in editing wikidata.

6. How will you engage participants after the event(s)?

I will engage through Whatsapp group.

Yes, but the number of persons is less than 10.

8. Is there anything else you want to tell us about this project?

I will train new editors on editing wikidata before each editathon.

  • Food and Drinks: $15 x 9 X 4 events = $540
  • Router hire: $25 x 4 events = $100
  • Data subscription on router: $29 x 4 events = $116
  • Branded souvenirs for all participants: $20 x 10 = $200
  • Transportation for facilitators: $12 x 3 x 4 = $144
