Project Plan
[edit]Activities
[edit]Tell us how you'll carry out your project. Be sure to answer the following questions:
1. Are you doing one editathon or training or a series of editathons or trainings? We plan on doing our annual Art + Feminism edit-athon on March 6, 2020, from 10am - 4pm.
2. How will you let your community know about the event? Please paste links below to where relevant communities have been notified of your proposal, and to any other relevant community discussions.
Yes, we will have User:AmandaRR123 from Northeastern University and the support of various regional editors.
4. Do participants have the equipment or skills needed to participate and contribute high quality content? If not, how will you support them?
Yes, they will have access to a college library computer lab , power, wifi, and various high quality art based databases ex. art and arch source, oxford art online, and the MassArt archive. There will also be food and beverage provided.
5. How will you engage participants after the event(s)?
We routinely do follow up after every edit-a-thon . Whether it is shepherding an article through publication or continued research on a specific entry. Our Wikipedian has been incredible helpful post edit-a-thon and has freely offered her assistance. We will also do a post edit-a-thon survey. We also have the Art + Feminism slack channel that provides robust support.
6. Is there anything else you want to tell us about this project?
This will be our 6th Art + Feminism campaign we have organized and helped facilitate. It makes our duties as a teaching librarians so much more robust when showing research projects to our art and design based students. We also working on bringing in a Wikipedia based assignment through wiki edu to our library pedagogy. We love Art + Feminism because the content of many articles can often times now be better than Oxford Art Online.
