Project Plan
[edit]Activities
[edit]- What community or communities will be involved in this movement strategy discussion(s)?
- Yes, there was a discussion at South Asia Movement Strategy Call and actually I put it forward and I quote, "Easily accessible information to people in local languages" and later I had several discussions with different community members on why this is a priority. I have reached out to South Asian community leaders in India, Bangladesh (already had a Movement Strategy Call in Bangladesh), Nepal, Bhutan and Pakistan as of now. Though discussions will be open for anyone from any local community to attend the workshops within the South Asia region or beyond.
- How will you make sure everyone is invited?
- I had have discussed with community leaders in the region to involve the community in selecting flexible dates and encourage their community members to attend the workshop. Invitation through various mailing lists, User Groups talk pages, using various social media platforms which include Facebook, Telegram, WhatsApp, Twitter, Instagram.
- I had have phone calls and there are last-minute reminders on mailing list to ensure that community members remember to join the workshop.
- How will you document community discussion(s) and feedback related to movement strategy? Who will be responsible for documenting these discussions?
- We will do our best to document community discussion in as many ways possible, and a team of dedicated community members had have been designated, starting from documenting on a meta page, writing minutes either in a google doc., or on etherpad, the said workshop will be recorded (if only participants agree there would be a possibility of audio recording). Last, but not the least an email address will be made available to community members to get back to us with any suggestions or feedback.
- What is your facilitation plan to support productive discussions around movement strategy? Please also provide a link to a Friendly Space Policy that will be implemented to support these discussions.
- Organize two back-to-back workshops for each community to discuss and brainstorm to understand community's priority, the opportunities and how it will apply to the said community.
- To support our discussions; we will use the Wikimedia Foundation Friendly Space policy.
- We will send a community feedback survey after the end of each workshop to determine the recommendations to prioritize, the survey result will help us to prepare an Agenda for the follow-up workshop.
- We are expecting few "Guest of honor" from the Wikimedia Foundation and from other communities to grace our workshop. They will be on ground to answer questions from the community members. We will also have dedicated community members to perform various tasks during the workshop and post workshop as well.
- If you are requesting funding for online tools or services to support participation, please describe these services and how they will be used. If not, please write N/A.
- Zoom subscription
- Data subsidy for participants and facilitators
- If you are translating movement strategy materials, in what languages will you be supporting translation? Who will be responsible for doing the translations? If not, please write N/A.
- We had have LIVE translation during the meeting in at least two languages. We will also have the documentations translated in languages as per the need. Again, we will have dedicated community members to support translation both online and offline.
- Are you running any in-person events or activities? If so, you will need to complete the steps outlined in the Risk Assessment protocol related to COVID-19. When you have completed these steps, please provide a link to your completed copy of the risk assessment tool below:
- All the workshops will be 100% online.
- Once you have completed the risk assessment protocol, please contact strategy2030wikimedia.org to confirm and finalize additional budget and logistical needs.
- N/A
- Is there anything else you want to tell us about this project?
- Yes, there are more than a couple of things which I like to share:
- I have already assisted in organizing one local community workshop, Movement Strategy Call in Bangladesh, next will be Santali Movement Strategy Call and there are around two more workshops in the pipeline, and there follow-up workshops as well, so, if I count total number of workshops it may be more than 4.
- Regarding workshops participation, I am working on a feedback survey to know why interested participants can't make it on the call, despite showing interest.
- I will be working on to sum up all the local community workshops discussions to a follow-up meeting of South Asia Movement Strategy Call.
- Yes, there are more than a couple of things which I like to share:
