We are doing one editathon in NYC. However, there are affiliates independent from the proposal that will also be organizing writing workshops during the month of March.

I will have their contact information and keep them updated on the impact we are having as well as future #wikiD events.
  11. Is there anything else you want to tell us about this project?

Endorsements

[edit]

Community members are encouraged to endorse your project request here!

  • Endorse. WikiD is a great community that understands and promotes the value of Wikipedia outreach within their specific initiative. They have put together great materials, are enthusiastic, and have great follow-through. Their work will address gender gap and diversity of content creation on Wikipedia. Fully support this grant. -- Erika aka BrillLyle (talk) 21:31, 19 February 2017 (UTC)
    • Please also note that if additional travel grant monies are needed, WM NYC offers Travel Micro-Grants. -- Erika aka BrillLyle (talk) 21:33, 19 February 2017 (UTC)
  • I attended the event last year and was really impressed with their training resources and organization. I think that other organizations starting similar editathons benefited from their example. I also remember how one of the presentations was about a notable female architect - who did not have an entry prior to the event. They mentioned it in the intro. In any case, success of an editathon doesn't rest entirely on # of entries created or edits made. Meaningful contact between participants and with Wikipedia was also part of what made their efforts worth continuing and supporting. Mozucat (talk) 21:44, 22 February 2017 (UTC)
