All Hausa Wikipedia projects in Katsina State have been carried out in Katsina. The purpose of this project is to introduce Wikipedia to the people of Kafur, Malumfashi and Danja Local Government Areas.

1. Are you doing one editathon or training or a series of editathons or trainings?

Is a three day series of Edit-a-thon, first day we will be training with the registration of new editors. In the next two days we will have a special Edit-a-thon to create and promote some articles on Hausa Wikipedia. There are articles that Hausa Wikipedia readers read a lot, I will list them and we will improve their translation.

2. How have you let relevant Wikimedia communities know about this proposal? You are required to provide links to on-wiki pages to inform these communities about your proposed work. Examples of places where this can be done include community discussion pages, affiliate discussion pages, or relevant project talk pages.
You may also provide information about external social media channels you may be using.

By our Social Media, such as our WhatsApp Group, Facebook Group and also on Hausa Wikipedia and Hausa Wikimedians User Group Discussion Pages

3. How will you let participants know about the edit-a-thon? In what ways will you be communicating with them?
For example, these can include on-wiki spaces, social media channels, mailing lists, messaging apps, or physical/online gatherings.

I will communicate with them through social media and also phone call. But I will discuss with them face to face.

4. Do you have experienced Wikimedia editors to lead the event? Please provide links to the usernames of these individuals.
For example: User:I JethroBT

Yes User:Em-mustapha and User:Abubakar A Gwanki they will help me on the day of training.

5. Do participants have the equipment or skills needed to participate and contribute high quality content? If not, how will you support them?

Most of them are tertiary institution graduate they will contribute quality content.
Many have smartphone but we will hire a Laptops to some.

6. How will you engage participants after the event(s)?

I will continue to discuss with them via social media and if possible I will create a special WhatsApp Group.

7. Are you running any in-person events or activities? If so, you will need to complete the steps outlined on the Risk Assessment protocol related to COVID-19. When you have completed these steps, please provide a link to your completed copy of the risk assessment tool below:

How will you know if the project is successful and you've met your goals? Please include the following targets:

  4. Number of of articles created or improved 300
  5. Number of repeat participants (for projects that include a series of events) 20

What resources do you have? Include information on who is organizing the project, what they will do, and if you will receive support from anywhere else (in-kind donations or additional funding).

I Hamza DK will lead the event. I have participated in Wikipedia Edit-a-thon in Kano, and also Participated in Wikipedia 20 in Kaduna, Wikipedia awareness in Kano State and some other Wikimedia events.

What resources do you need? For your funding request, list bullet points for each expense and include a total amount.

  1. Event Space - 80,000 × 3days = 240,000
  2. Food and Refreshments - unit 2000 × 40 = 80,000 × 3days = 240,000
  3. Laptops hires - 1000 × 10 10,000 × 3days = 30,000
  4. Data - 1000 × 40 = 40,000 × 3days = 120,000
  5. Branded Tshirts two for facilitators and Participants - 2000 × 5 = 20,000
  6. Transportation - 1000 × 40 =40,000 × 3days = 120,000
  7. Banner - 40,000
  8. Fliers and Tags = 50 each = 30,000

Total' NGN = 820,000 Total USD =1,993.42
