Goals

The project focused on increasing wikidata participation, recruiting new editors, increasing skills for existing editors, and Add or improve the data of Nigerian-cuisines on wikidata. And in that regard, I can boldly say YES the project goals were met.

Learning
[edit]Projects do not always go according to plan. Sharing what you learned can help you and others plan similar projects in the future. Help the movement learn from your experience by answering the following questions:
- What worked well?
1. One thing that has always worked is subsidizing internet subscription for all participants as it serves as a huge motivation which ensured the repeat of participants to all the events 2. The idea of gifting top 15 editors seem to work as it saw the rise of active participations. so it is one I wish to continue in my future project. 3. Also, mentorship on the WhatsApp platform was really helpful as we ended up seeing more new editors getting more involved. 4. Another thing that seem to be working is the weekly challenge which we have after every live session.
- What did not work so well?
1. poor internet network was a bit of an issue. we had to switch between different network providers to keep up with the edit-a-thon. and also had to upload some follow-up videos on the whatsapp platform. 2. Having participants pick at random contents to be added from the project page did not work so well as we ended up seeing few participants picking almost all the content and the others not having to pick any because they have all been done by the first set of participants.
- What would you do differently next time?
1. An idea we got from the participants during our last live session is to assign task (i.e. content to be added) to all participants present during each live session and having them complete it before the next live session. This I intend to implement in my next project.
