[edit]Tell us how you'll carry out your project. Be sure to answer the following questions:
1. What content will the contest focus on, and why is it important to your community?
- The contest focuses on free and high quality photographs of historic sites and historical monuments in Brazil to be made available on Wikimedia Commons and thus be available for use in all other Wikimedia projects.
2. How will you let people know about the contest?
- Social media
- Central Notice across Wikimedia geolocated to Brazil editors Brazil
- Press release
- Invitations toon former participants’ talk pages
3. How will you judge the contest and award prizes? In the first phase the photographs will be curated so contributions out of scope can be discarded; Then a jury of 3-4 members of contributors with expertise in photography will judge relevance, visual appeal and quality of the images and attribute scores. Prizes will be in term of certificates, gift hampers and tokens of appreciation.
4. For photo contests, what is the strategy to get images used on projects?
- We plan to make an edit-a-thon to improve and create articles about the Brazilian monuments and use the images in those articles.

Endorsements
[edit]Community members are encouraged to endorse your project request here!
- Strong support I'd like to stress this is the first time this team plans to organize the Brazilian edition of WLM. Most team members come from the Wikimedia affiliate Wiki Movimento Brasil. We have worked on proposal, that was approved by the WLM international team. My personal focus on this project is to: (1) improve the integration of Commons and Wikidata for uploads --which has not happened yet in the case of Brazil; (2) increase the use of images contributed --as this rate has remained at nearly 0% in previous editions; (3) increase community engagement; and (4) try to establish institutional partnerships, i.e., GLAMs, universities... Thanks Ederporto for putting this grant request out there. Yay WLM Brasil! --Joalpe (talk) 16:38, 1 July 2019 (UTC)
- Strong support I would like to endorse this project because I believe it will be a positive step for WLM in Brazil. This year, the project will become more integrated and connected to the wiki platforms (Wikidata, in particular, due to the work Wiki Movimento Brasil has been already doing). Consequently, I believe, the project should enter more properly into the map and network of participants and interested. GiFontenelle (talk) 19:40, 5 July 2019 (UTC)
- Strong support This is a great initiative by Wiki Movimento Brasil, which I'm sure will bring WLM in Brazil into a new level. The proposed extensive use of Wikidata is a already big step forward, in line with what Wiki Movimento Brasil has been already doing. This grant will be decisive in achieving the proposed goals for WLM in Brazil this year.- Darwin Ahoy! 22:00, 11 July 2019 (UTC)
- Strong support In addition to the issues raised by my colleagues on the use of Wikidata, I appreciate that the proposal encourages participants to take photos of monuments that aren't on Commons yet. I'm sure that the editathon activity will be enriching fot the Wikimedia ecosystem. The team has my total confidence for the execution of this project! EricaAzzellini (talk) 18:12, 16 July 2019 (UTC)
- Strong support Nice initiative by Wiki Movimento Brasil. I am sure they are working a lot to spread the Movement and to increase the activities and contributions from Brazil. I really trust in them as directors of WLM in Brazil. The team involved is full of great volunteers and I am sure they are going to do the best of them. I take this opportunity not only to endorse this project, but also to let them know that if I can help with something they just have to tell me. Regards, Ivanhercaz (talk) 16:09, 30 July 2019 (UTC)
Support I'm hoping for even more quality contributions from the community this year, and a prize can help with that! Tetizeraz (talk) 04:35, 4 August 2019 (UTC)
