[edit]Did you meet your goals? Are you happy with how the project went?
Yes, we are happy with how the project was implemented.
Outcome
[edit]Please report on your original project targets. Please be sure to review and provide metrics required for Rapid Grants.
Target outcome | Achieved outcome | Explanation |
Number of participants <--25 | We had 34 participants. | We had about 142% compared to the planned number of participants. |
Number of uploaded photos <--300 | 345 photos were uploaded | We had a strong mobilization that made us reaching up to 115% of the target. |
Number of photos used on Wikimedia projects <--30 | About 17 photos were used | This was achieved by 57%, it was not fully achieved because of mainly the timeline and most of the participants were busy hunting photos. |
Learning
[edit]Projects do not always go according to plan. Sharing what you learned can help you and others plan similar projects in the future. Help the movement learn from your experience by answering the following questions:
- What worked well?
-->Some participants were supporting each other to get photos related to the theme. -->We collaborated with some groups of photographers that also helped collecting more photos.
- What did not work so well?
-->Getting hospital or medical related photos was challenging for some participants requiring high level permissions.
-->The COVID-19 restrictions and lockdowns in some parts of the country were also challenging and delaying whenever there was a complete lockdown in that region.
-->The photo selection tool (Montage) was challenging and we think that there are some tweaks needed to make for instance, the last round (3) showing up the top winners photos.
- What would you do differently next time?
-->Pairing up participants so that they do exchange ideas to be able to take photos that tell stories. -->First run some short time training to learn basic professional photography skills.
