Target outcome Achieved outcome Explanation
Recruit new editors from diverse backgrounds We had new comers who became more interested in helping us contribute to Wikipedia. All new bies were welcomed and were taught how to edit Wikipedia, we even adiced them to visit the Wikipedia Tea house to better their editing skills.
Increase the representation and coverage of women and other marginalized groups on Wikipedia
Increase skills for existing editors
Add or improve content and citations We improved some of the Women articles and added citations and citation marks.
Use editing Wikipedia and the editing guidelines to teach information literacy skills We had to go through Wikipedia:Policies and guidelines to make everyone aware of what is required before editing Wikipedia.

Learning

[edit]

Projects do not always go according to plan. Sharing what you learned can help you and others plan similar projects in the future. Help the movement learn from your experience by answering the following questions:

  • What worked well?

Everything worked well, except that some of the machines were malfunctioning.

  • What did not work so well?
  • What would you do differently next time?

We will make sure more people bring their own devices even if we have equipment to cater for new bies to be able to open accounts.
