Learning

[edit]

Projects do not always go according to plan. Sharing what you learned can help you and others plan similar projects in the future. Help the movement learn from your experience by answering the following questions:

  • What worked well?

There was an elevated enthusiasm to the project as compared to our previous events because of the prizes. So the article target was almost doubled. There was a lot of new editors too, and the participation target was also surpassed.

  • What did not work so well?

There were more attendees than we anticipated, even though we did pre-screening via Google form. (partly to not overwhelm our resources and partly to comply with Covid-19 rules which were more strict at the time). While this is not bad (since we always need new people) it disrupted the plannings to some degree and we had to increase some supplies such as the Lunch from 25 to 30. Uploading project-usable images to Commons was mostly not achieved (only event images were)

  • What would you do differently next time?

Be more proactive about the plannings and expected attendees. Uploading images to Commons should be a dedicated session with good plannings about what to upload and where to actually source the images and the attendant costs for that.
