Movement Strategy Implementation Grant Report
Accepted

Please review the notes below before submitting your report. Your draft implementation plan document should address the following questions clearly:

  • What movement strategy initiative or goal are you addressing?
  • What activities will you be doing to address that initiative?
  • What do you expect will happen as a result of your activities? How do those outcomes address the movement strategy initiative?
  • How will you measure or evaluate your activities? What tools or methods will you use to evaluate your activities?

To create a draft implementation plan, we recommend the use of a logic model, which will help you and your team think about goals, activities, outcomes, and other factors in an organized way. Please refer the following resources to develop a logic model:

What Movement Strategy initiative is this draft plan supporting?

  • Movement Charter, Movement-Wide consultations on Movement Charter

What activities have you completed to produce this draft plan?

As proposed, a preliminary research was conducted to highlight certain avenues on which we would gain feedback from our community easily. Meanwhile, a number of Movement-Charter pages were translated into Urdu language, propagated and shared with our community members. A series of one-on-one, multi-person offline meetings were held to seek the community feedback on Movement Charter draft chapters. We also hosted Ciell, a member of the drafting committee. As proposed for the offline meetings, we did not host any meeting in Bangalore because of receiving grant quite late -- our offline meetings include few in New Delhi, few in Deoband and few in Hyderabad. The meetings done and the translations completed during this period have been provided below.

  • The following pages were translated into Urdu
  • The following meetings online/offline were arranged
  • 27 November 2022, offline meeting with our researcher Muntaqibah
  • 28 November 2022, our researcher's online call with MSG facilitator CSinha
  • 30 November 2022, an offline meeting with one of our advisors, DilliKiShaam, a researcher scholar at Jamia Millia Islamia.
  • 2 December 2022, participation in Movement Charter: South Asia Regional Consultation
  • 3 December 2022, an online meeting with Akbarali on different aspects of our Movement Charter Ambassador Program.
  • 4 December 2022, an in-person meeting with Muhammad Aqeel, a postgraduate research scholar, to seek feedback on the Movement Charter, subject to DCW's themes and ideas.
  • 6 December 2022, an in-person meeting with ShadabAkhtar0786
  • Hyderabad offline meetings between 9 and 11 December. Joined by Faismeen, Hindustanilanguage and Omran Ali
  • An in-person meet at Deoband on 12 December 2022.
  • An online call with Ciell, a member of the Movement Charter Drafting Committee has been scheduled to take place on Thursday, 15 December 2022. (07:00 PM to 08:00 PM IST)
  • 16 December 2022: Final intracommunity consultation call (online) at 07:00 PM to 08:00 PM IST.

In which community channels have you announced your draft plan?

Remaining funds

[edit]

Do you have any remaining grant funds?

  • Yes, an amount of INR 10,270 is underspent. As requested much earlier here, DCW's community laptop's LCD got accidentally damaged during the Movement Charter discourses. A request was made to avail help but it was not approved at that time. The repair charges are INR 6726 recorded on the invoice received from the Dell (see ticket:2022122910002077). I'd like to seek help once again at the end of the project. If this request is approved, there remains an underspent amount of INR 3544 that we would like to use doing a strategic meetup at the start of February 2023 concerning DCW's strategic growth.
Remaining funds have been used or will be used for other approved mission-aligned activities. This use has been requested in writing and approved by WMF.

Anything else

[edit]

Anything else you want to share about your project?

The Movement Charter Ambassador's project was seen as a strategic-booster by our community members. However, its sudden launch and subsequently quick completion - made a number of things difficult. The community looks forward to such conversations again given that they get a good time to go through things and produce through and insightful reviews.
