Malawi is a country that is embracing the use of Technology. There is need to teach the people on usage of the internet and provide guidelines on how to be protected. There is need to create a resourceful source on the internet that can be able to provide information and usage of the internet. I would like to engage students and communities to fully utilize Wikipedia and its sister projects like Wiki-data, Wikiquote and Wikimedia Commons

Problems to be addressed

1. Need to create content in Local Languages for the masses
2. Participation of people on content creation both for local and international audiences
3. No group of Wikipedia present in the country
4. Student, teacher and organizations with interest engagements in creating a platform for information.

Solutions

1. Reach out to people and encourage them to increase the presence on the internet and participate in Wikipedia projects
2. Engage the community to provide content that best suits them
3. Reach out to students, teachers and organizations that have interest to create focus groups that can participate in Wikipedia projects

1.Awareness campaigns to align with the participants on what the project is all about. this will list the number of people that will be engaged with the project, the volunteers will be clearly be assigned their roles and all issues addressed.

2.Meetings with participants, students and lectures and have a hands on sessions on sessions, going through the required content and also engaging the Wikipedia team to help provide the content that will help to reach out to the team.
3.Engage the Wikipedia team in-case we have problems to create a community, and ask for knowledge on best practices, community principals etc.

Students, lectures, community members and anyone who has interest are the targeted participants. There will be groups that will be registered and have a meeting schedule, where minutes of meetings will be collected and shared to the participants. Community members will have gatherings and be addressed accordingly on the project status.

The groups were notified through the use of phone calls, meetings and gatherings. social media will also play a role to encourage and inform the community on the progress of the project. Project dashboards will be shared in groups and meetings.
