Part 2: Learning[edit]

4. In your application, you outlined some learning questions. What did you learn from these learning questions when you implemented your project? How do you hope to use this learnings in the future? You can recall these learning questions below. (required)

You can recall these learning questions below: Wiki Loves Libraries Nigeria project will offer a rich learning experience across various dimensions. Here are some aspects i hope to learn from this project:

Working with a diverse group of editors, including new and existing ones, from different library schools, associations, and types of libraries can provide insights into community dynamics and effective collaboration. Learning how to foster a sense of shared purpose and engagement among participants is a valuable skill. Through several training sessions and practical editing tasks, I hope to effectively improve content gaps on Wikipedia and its sister's project.

And we hope the following questions are answered after completing the project:

What is their perception of Wikipedia? What are the best metrics to be used in measuring the outcome of the campaign? Did the campaign meet the expectations of the participants?

Most new student Librarians that were present during the trainings had a different perception about Wikipedia and have a better understanding of the open Knowledge platform and are ready to contribute to Wikipedia and its sister project. The event page was used and it helped in effectively registering the participants and adding them to the dashboard. The outreach dashboard was used in tracking the outcome of the project. Yes the expectations of the participants was met using the post evaluation survey given to them at the end of the project.

5. Did anything unexpected or surprising happen when implementing your activities? This can include both positive and negative situations. What did you learn from those experiences? (required)

Yes, more participants joined the campaign dashboard than planned, which affected the team's budget and metric-tracking activities as some were on multiple campaigns. And one bigger issue was when the outreach dashboard stopped tracking the contributions of the participants and it affected the motivation of the participants, which made us to check contributions of the participants using the X tool and checking the participants contributions individually for all 68 participants on our dashboard. During the physical training sessions, we had in person the Chairman for the National Library of Association, Kwara Branch. She was really enthusiastic to learn, especially the part where we use the SOURCEMD in creating scholarly related articles by Librarians in Nigeria. And we had new student Librarians, especially from the University of Ilorin, some students were passionate in writing articles from scratch for new notable lecturers of Librarianship.

6. What is your plan to share your project learnings and results with other community members? If you have already done it, describe how. (required)

There was a diff publication that is published, on the online sessions and physical sessions of the project.
