The Holistic objective of Wiki Loves Libraries Nigeria is to contribute to the enrichment of Wikipedia by systematically and comprehensively documenting information related to Nigerian Libraries, Library Associations, and notable Librarians. This training will be more of a follow up retraining on participants that were active during the Wikipedia Awareness for Library and Information Science in June 2022 and the first Wiki Loves Libraries which was in December 2022, this This initiative aligns with the Wikimedia Foundation's mission to empower and engage people around the world through free access to knowledge. Specifically, this project aims to achieve the following:

1. This project will enhance the quality and quantity of Wikipedia articles pertaining to Nigerian Libraries, Library Associations, and notable Librarians, ensuring that accurate and up-to-date information is readily available to a global audience.
2. This Project will raise awareness and visibility of Nigerian Libraries and Librarians on a global scale, showcasing their significance, achievements, and contributions to the cultural and educational landscape.
3. This project will foster collaboration among Librarians from various Institutions, Library students, library organizations such as The Librarians' Registration Council of Nigeria(LRCN) and The National Library Association of Nigeria (NLA), This collaboration will contribute to the collective effort of knowledge dissemination and preservation.
4. This project will address the digital divide by actively engaging in virtual initiatives that make information about Nigerian Libraries easily accessible on wikipedia, wikicommons and on wikidata to individuals regardless of their geographical location.

This project will further enable Librarians and Library students to become content creators on Wikipedia other than being retrievers, disseminators, and verifiers of information on Wikipedia and wikidata.

The main approaches to achieve the above are :

1. Recruiting 15 new editors from Library schools, Library associations, and all types of libraries in Nigeria to allow all representatives from all identified areas for improvement to participate in this project, and 25 returning participants.
2. There is already an existing Meta Page for the campaign Wiki Loves Libraries (https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Wiki_Loves_Libraries_Nigeria )
3. Increasing awareness of Wikimedia projects and the current problem among Nigerian librarians. 50% of participants may be familiar with English Wikipedia and Wikidata, but they may be unaware of all the shortcomings of existing articles on Libraries and Librarians in Nigeria on Wikipedia and Wikidata, highlighting the need for this approach.
7. What are the planned activities? (required) Please provide a list of main activities. You can also add a link to the public page for your project where details about your project can be found. Alternatively, you can upload a timeline document. When the activities include partnerships, include details about your partners and planned partnerships.

The following are the planned out activities for the success of the project project :

Following the successful implementation of the initial WikiLovesLibrariesNigeria campaign, we propose a follow-up training session aimed at building on the momentum and engaging both existing participants which are librarians and library science students and new editors.

The call for participation will be made using various social media platforms, with E-posters and banners used to promote the programme online. All participants will receive an online form to provide data for proper documentation.

During the project the facilitation will be led by the main facilitators and some of the previous participants can also help out in retraining of the newbies that way continuous development is sustainable for past participants.

Also, the training will include both physical and online training/edithatons to guarantee that editors are adequately taught on how to bridge the expertise and content gap across multiple Wikimedia projects during the editing contest.

To ensure the project's sustainability Following the events, new participants will be recruited to the existing Wikibrarian group and the various Wikimedia user groups, which will keep them informed and urge additional librarians to participate in wiki activities. Participants will be added to the current messaging channel for follow-up, updates, and questions. These participants would also receive invitations to future events.
