Pour la quatrième année consécutive depuis 2020, le Togo a accueilli Wiki Loves Africa 2024, qui s'est déroulé du 1er mars au 30 avril 2024. Ce concours international de photographie africaine vise à mettre en valeur la culture africaine sur Wikipédia en permettant aux participants de contribuer avec leurs images, vidéos et enregistrements audio à Wikimédia. Durant les deux mois de concours, nous avons fait plusieurs formations autour des projets Wikimedia notamment Wikimedia commons et l'importance de la compréhension profonde des questions de licence creative commons, des catégories et de la réutilisation des images à travers les projets Wikimedia. Deux (02) expéditions de prise de photos ont été menées dans les villes de Lomé et Kara au Togo. Plus de 1131 photos ont été prises et téléversées sur Wikimedia commons. Le projet a touché au total 43 participants, dont 12 personnes ont découvert Wikimedia pour la première fois. Pour cette édition de WLA, le Togo occupe la 3ème place sur le plan international en matière de nombres de photos téléversées pendant la compétition.

You can recall these learning questions below: Ce projet viendra à point nommer nous aider à la faire la lumière la créativité en Afrique surtout dans notre pays au Togo.

WLA 2024 a été une très belle opportunité pour découvrir la diversité de la créativité togolaise qui régit la vie des togolais que ce soit dans les grandes villes ou dans les plus petites communautés de l'intérieur du pays. Plusieurs secteurs ont été touchées par les images de cette campagne. On peut citer l'agriculture, l'artisanat, la cuisine, etc... Ces divers secteurs dont les pratiques ont été numérisées à travers nos images font partie intégrante de la vie sociale et économique des communautés à travers le pays.

Depuis 4 années d'organisation de la campagne Wiki Loves Africa, c'est donc la toute première fois que nous avons autant de participants et de photos. Ceci serait dû au succès des sorties photos, de l'intérêt des participants en matière de partage de connaissance et potentiellement l’effet des récompenses à la clé au niveau national et international.

Pour le partage des expériences et surtout des résultats de ce projet, nous pensons diffuser les plus belles images identifiées à travers une campagne digitale. Nous prévoyons également valoriser ces images à travers les projets wikimedia notamment wikipédia lors de nos futures campagnes telles que Wiki pages Wanting Photos.
