En el marco del décimo segundo aniversario de Wikidata, se busca realizar actividades de intercambio para la promoción de los proyectos Wikimedia en Venezuela con ayuda de las organizaciones locales. Los afiliados en el país han consolidado un sólido compromiso para incentivar a la comunidad a participar en iniciativas voluntarias y contribuciones a los proyectos de Wikimedia. Con motivo del duodécimo aniversario de Wikidata, se pretende llevar a cabo actividades de intercambio orientadas a la promoción de los proyectos de Wikimedia en Venezuela, en colaboración con organizaciones locales.

WikiMeet 2024 será un evento comunitario programado para llevarse a cabo en Valencia los días 11 y 12 de octubre de 2024. La difusión del evento se realizará mediante redes sociales de los organizadores, aliados estratégicos y las plataformas de comunicación central de los proyectos Wikimedia.
El programa preliminar consistirá en las siguientes actividades:
- Mañana del 11 de octubre de 2024: Sesiones de diálogo informal centradas en la relevancia de Wikidata dentro del movimiento Wikimedia y las diversas formas de colaboración que se pueden establecer.
- Tarde del 11 de octubre de 2024: - Taller de edición en Wikidata, donde los participantes llevarán a cabo ediciones directas en la plataforma, enfocándose en la adición de datos sobre Venezuela que actualmente no están representados en el proyecto. - Laboratorio de ideas, en el cual los asistentes generarán propuestas orientadas a la creación de proyectos sostenibles, en colaboración con los afiliados locales.
- Mañana del 12 de octubre de 2024: Taller sobre la carga de fotografías en Wikimedia Commons.
- Tarde del 12 de octubre de 2024: Taller dedicado a la creación o mejora de artículos en Wikiviajes.
Adicionalmente, se contemplan actividades recreativas durante el evento, con el objetivo de fortalecer la cohesión y camaradería entre los participantes.
La participación se diseñará en un formato híbrido, permitiendo opciones tanto presenciales como virtuales, además de la transmisión en vivo a través de plataformas disponibles. Se anticipa una asistencia de entre 15 y 20 personas.

Las personas a cargo de este proyecto son todas voluntarias. Por parte de Wikimedia Venezuela tenemos:
● Ybsen Lucero (Usuario: Ybsen_lucero): Project Manager. Presidente de Wikimedia Venezuela. Wikimedista desde 2007, ha sido miembro del voluntariado del movimiento y fue parte del staff de su capítulo (como Director Ejecutivo) en 2017.
● Lourdes Herrera (Usuario: Herreral81): Tesorera de Wikimedia Venezuela. Wikimedista desde 2015, ha sido miembro del voluntariado del movimiento con más de dos décadas de experiencia en trabajo con y para voluntariados como miembro de la Asociación Civil Scouts de Venezuela. Será una de las personas encargadas de la logística del evento
Por parte del Administrador Fiscal tenemos:
● Jose Luis Mendoza, Abogado. Parte del Voluntariado de Creative Commons Venezuela y miembro de la Junta Directiva de CLISI
Dado que el estado Carabobo se encuentra dentro del ámbito de operación de Wikimedia Small Projects y de acuerdo a lo estipulado en el Acuerdo de Colaboracion suscrto entre ambos afiliados, ellos proporcionarán apoyo logístico para el evento: a través de los siguientes miembros
● Raysilut Valero (username: Raymvc97): Observadora y miembro del equipo de comunicaciones de Wikimedia Small Projects. Será una de las personas encargadas de la logística del evento
● Alexandra Bello (username: Abello (WMSP)): Miembro de la Comisión Administrativa de Wikimedia Small Projects. Funge como Asesor Operativo

Wikimedia Venezuela estableció contacto con Wikimedia Small Projects para solicitar apoyo en la ejecución de esta actividad. A través de este encuentro, buscamos identificar un método eficaz y accesible que permita atraer a las personas a contribuir a Wikidata y a otros proyectos de Wikimedia, al mismo tiempo que se facilite la curva de aprendizaje para los nuevos usuarios. Adicionalmente, es fundamental comprender las razones por las que los editores de Wikipedia en Venezuela no participan en la edición de Wikidata y en otros proyectos de Wikimedia, ya sea por la falta de herramientas adecuadas o de orientaciones necesarias para aprender a contribuir. Nuestro objetivo es determinar qué acciones podemos implementar para mejorar la visibilidad y la comprensión de Wikidata dentro de la comunidad.
