The Hausa Wikitionary contest will be held annually, and Hausa Wikitionary editors will compete to improve Wikitionary in the Hausa language while adhering to Wikitionary's editing guidelines and competition rules. The primary goal of the contest is to create comprehensive Wikitionary Guidelines pages that will assist, direct, and guide Wikitionary editors when editing Hausa Wikitionary. Throughout the contest, editors will adhere to the Wikimedia Wikitionary universal guidelines for Wikitionary editing. To encourage them, the contest will offer them the chance to win incredible prizes that will improve their editing skills and multiply their efforts to improve words in Wikitionary. The contest will be held annually in Hausa Wikitionary and will be overseen by Hausa Wikitionary administrators, who will review the results following the event. Furthermore, participation in the contest requires the current number of Hausa Wikitionary editors, whom we have trained and mentored as administrators. Furthermore, the contest will provide them with the necessary information, resources, support, appropriate skills, and capacity-building engagement to help them rapidly expand Hausa Wikitionary. The contests will also include training sessions to help participants improve their Hausa Wiktionary editing skills. The contest will change the goal of collecting a large number of words in Hausa Wikitionary. It will also provide Hausa Wikitionary editors with data, prizes, recognition, and stipends. The first five runners-up will receive gifts, awards, certificates, and recognition.
There has never been a contest before, and there is currently no contest on the ground, so a contest is being planned to take place in Hausa Wikitionary to support and motivate editors. The fact that there are so many editors in Hausa Wikitionary demonstrates that a method of motivation will be unleashed, encouraging editors to advance Hausa Wikitionary. There are now several administrators who will be reviewing the contest. The primary challenge and problem we are attempting to solve is to provide editors with assistance, such as data support, throughout the contest and to win incredible prizes that will boost their efforts in contributing to Hausa Wikitionary. Furthermore, we wanted to address the issue of a delay in the rapid increase of words in the Hausa Wiktionary. First, local Hausa Wikitionary administrators in the Hausa community will design and create an annual contest page for Hausa Wikitionary editors to participate in and review. The page will include necessary documentation and information that will improve the competition guidelines and approaches. Second, Wikitionary guidelines pages will be created to help editors understand the fundamental needs and in-depth skills required to edit Hausa Wikitionary. You can find a sample of those pages in the English Wiktionary .https://ha.wiktionary.org/wiki/Hausa_Wiktionary_Guidelines_pages
Third, training will be provided in the Hausa Wikitionary community to improve the user experience both online and offline. A campaign will be developed and implemented throughout the community to contact existing editors in the Hausa Wikitionary community. Awards and prizes will be labeled in accordance with the Wikitionary editing rules and regulations, as established by the Wikimedia community. In light of the foregoing, we intend to invite the current editors of Hausa Wikitionary to participate in the contest, which will provide them with an unparalleled opportunity to be encouraged and exposed to contributing to Hausa Wikitionary while also winning incredible prizes and learning skills that will improve user experience. As Hausa Wikitionary administrators, we worked tirelessly to improve Hausa Wikitionary by developing new features and combining them to make Hausa Wikitionary even better.
