Taiwanese language (Tâi-gí) is a crucial part of Taiwan's cultural identity, but it faces the risk of decline due to the prevalence of Mandarin in education and media. Additionally, traditional aspects of Taiwanese local culture, such as temple traditions and culinary heritage, are at risk of being forgotten by younger generations. This project aims to document and preserve these traditions by conducting interviews and creating publicly accessible digital content.
Younger generations are not fluent in Taiwanese, and the language is not prioritized in formal education. Traditional temple customs and culinary knowledge are not being actively documented or transmitted. Limited Access to Resources There are insufficient high-quality open-access resources to help individuals learn about these cultural aspects.
