Proposal

[edit]

1. What is the overall vision of your organization and how does this proposal contribute to this? How does this proposal connect to past work and learning?

Organization with the main goal of managing the initiatives and projects of the Wikimedia Foundation, on the territory of Macedonia. Shared Knowledge deals with multiplying at Wikipedia articles in Macedonian language, spreading the grid of wiki users, promoting Wikipedia and its use and knowledge, uploading images and other media for greater and better illustration of Wikipedia articles and sister projects.

2. What is the change that you are trying to bring about and why is this important?

Hence the Wikimedia is all about human interact, the relative problem is gathering or acquiring people, whether they would be for editing, photographing, external collaborators, experts at some field, logistics personnel, that Shared Knowledge i.e. Wikimedia would have high final outcome, productivity and accomplished metrics.

In order to overpass this issue, Shared Knowledge and it's activists should be exact in their activity of invocating the in future current objectives, to the regular people, no matter they are old or new Wikipedians, be active on the social media, making big media outreach in TV and radio stations, newspapers, websites. etc. With making popular our ideas and goals, and making true connection to the community. We would overcome and check 2022 as a successfull year.

3. Describe your main approaches or strategies to achieve these changes and why you think they will be effective.

- Expeditions are adventurous wiki activities intended for covering the unexplored regions or micro regions, that are rural by characteristics, by the Macedonian Wikimedians. These engagements are highly productive in images and content. With taking essential media/images, we are bringing closer the visited places and the Wikipedia visitors or Internet users in general. So, again, they will be our main focus. Expeditions are divided to Wikiexpeditions with four editions, Veloexpeditions with two editions, Geoexpeditions with one edition, Archaeoexpeditions with two editions. Wikiexpeditions are logistically by SUV, the Veloexpeditions are by bicycle. Geoexpeditions and Archaeoexpeditions are themed based and cover geographical and archaeological sites, respectively.

  • WikiVillage is about promoting village buildings listed as Cultural Heritage of Macedonia. This had an inaugural engagement in 2021. The plan is to intall QR-code plaques, leading to an article of the respective house and/or other building. The plaques are inserted in the proximity of the house. WIth this action we highlight the national cultural heritage buildings, promote them and the village itself and Wikipedia of course. In 2022, we will cover one or two villages depending on the number of buildings listed as cultural heritage.
  • Wikiexperiments as a project has high productivity and there is a big interest of cooperation among the university professors that make the experiments program and present it in their respective videos. According to the statements of the professors and/or their assistants, these kinds of videos really ease the time and energy at the teaching of the students, and they admit the real need for a recorded presentation of experiments for the students.
  • WikiLectures will be a brand new activity consisting of video recording of a professor solving a math or physics equation. This is very helpful and much more illustrative due to the entire process being explained. These videos later will be put on proper articles and our organization will promote them among the teaching community for greater usage and implement of the made lectures.

4. What are the activities you will be developing and delivering as part of these approaches or strategies?

  • Executives of institutions and/or organizations, and their staff, in which we see collaboration in the Partnership program. Every year, some GLAM institution is being visited by Shared Knowledge and we tend to have full support of institutions at approval of the activity, photographing notable exhibits/objects that belong to the institutions, handover of literature and other material that can be used as references, and editing activities in big or small scale.
