We aim to improve the participation of women, people of color, human rights activists and other minority groups, highlighting the importance of representativity on the editing community. We seek to capacitate members of grassroots organizations on the tools and norms for a productive and responsable use o the wikipedia.
Plan
[edit]Activities
[edit]Starting in January 2015, we intend to organize one edit-a-thon every month until June. Each event is going to be focused in one subject related to minorities and human rights. A suggested order follows:
- Women rights (January, 12) - People of color in history and media (Fabruary, 15) - Disabilities (March, 15) - LGBTQ culture (April, 15) - Indigenous people in Brazil (May, 15) - Children rights (June, 15)
We want to work alongside with human rights and grassroots organizations, Schools, religious institutions and activists in order to reach a public historically excluded from the fruition of access to technological resources and knowledge.
