Creating a budget
[edit]This page will help you with the technical task of creating a budget for a grant proposal. The budget table should clarify exactly what you propose to spend grant funds on. Grantees will be held accountable for variances in the project budget for each line item or budget category. For best results, the estimates provided in your budget should be based on research, price quotes, and a real understanding of local costs. Some projects will have simple budgets, while other projects will have more complex budgets.
For tips about how to design the contents of a good budget, see the Budget Guidelines.

- Notes on how line items were calculated
- A separate column for funds requested from other sources

Notes
[edit]Currency: The budget should be presented in the currency the grantee is requesting. Consider providing equivalents in USD or euros for our international readership. We recommend using this site for currency conversion; however, this is not a requirement. In cases when you expect to spend grant funds in multiple currencies, a column for each currency, and for the currency you're requesting should be provided, with references to the exchange rates used. Where you know exact costs through research, quotes, etc, that involve small currency units (e.g. cents ), include; but estimated costs should normally be in whole large currency units.
