Project idea
[edit]What is the problem you're trying to solve?
[edit]With Wikivideo we can reach more people and in some cases it is easier to understand something in a video than reading a five pages long article.
What is your solution?
[edit]Make a platform: Wikivideo. It's like Wikipedia, with all its advantages, but with video.
Who will you be doing outreach with?

[edit]About the idea creator
[edit]I am currently a student and I don't speak English natively. Many of classmate would educate themselves more if there would be more video material.
Participants
[edit]I would like to work on the required infrastructure in order to make the video creation process more suitable for Wikipedia (e.g. collaborative, changeable etc.) and I can also contribute by producing explainer videos (in cooperation with other volunteers) for Wikipedia. There are also some projects (e.g. Wiki Loves Explainer Videos) that contribute to this idea. --Norma.jean (talk) 15:57, 6 February 2017 (UTC)
Endorsements
[edit]- Some people have greater comprehension if presented in a multimedia format such as video or podcast. Haslantis (talk) 08:51, 6 February 2017 (UTC)
- Videos have become a popular format for the dissemination of information - especially short animated explainer videos which provide a quick overview over complex topics. The same principle applies to Wikipedia: videos can enrich existing content and provide an entertaining and easily comprehensible access to free knowledge.
