==Audience== students and lecturers in umudike

===Who are the people you want to introduce Wikipedia to?===I intend to introduce wikipedia to Students at my school who dont use wikipedia due to ignorance of its effeciency,by this means i make then know what can be done with wikipedia and its benefits over other online sources knowledge

===In what languages do they search for information, online or otherwise?===mostly English and Igbo language

===In what ways does this group communicate with each other?===by means of social medias like WHATSAPP FACEBOOK and also student union meetings This can include services and apps in social media, mailing lists, physical spaces like conferences or lectures, or at specific institutions like at a library.

===What are some reasons this group would use Wikipedia? How would they benefit from it, or what would they find useful?===My target audience are students who carry out various demanding research on diffrent courses which they happen to study here at the university, hence the need to use wikipedia more. The number benefit is authenticity and for me thats all that matters Think about what they would be interested in reading and learning about; does Wikipedia provide better access to information this group cares about?
==Project idea==The people who will be in these pictures are people who are scholars and professionals in their fields of study who just like me use Wikipedia for research purposes, when the students at my university see this happen they will develop interest in Wikipedia and benefit as well and trust me my school has a great deal of students who don't know of Wikipedia... with time I intend on hosting a seminar to give information about Wikipedia to everyone at my school.

What language Wikipedia projects will you promote to new readers?

[edit]

igbo and hausa language

How will you communicate with new readers? Will you be communicating with them online, in-person, or both?

[edit]

Both ===Describe your idea to engage new readers. How might it be implemented? What will you tell people about Wikipedia?=== its in two phases, firstly, iconic figures at my university who students look up to will take a picture while holding a board with 'Wikipedia is awesome' and or 'I love Wikipedia' boldly written on it ...I post these pictures online including social medias and the school website creating more awareness. This is the second phase where I intend on hosting a seminar at my school telling every participant about the benefits of using Wikipedia but most importantly I plan on teaching the population how to translate and edit articles into igbo language which is the locally spoken language here in Abia state, I believe if more people who didn't know about Wikipedia get to know they will want to try it out and when this happens they'll see the pleasure and that's it they will be stuck using it just like me. There are not much steps to be taken in actualizing this idea All I need is to rent a big hall the get musical equipment and refreshments for those in attendance and thats its we are all set Think about the steps that might involved to make this idea happen, and what you might teach people about your experience or others' experiences using Wikipedia.
. ===How will you know if this project is successful? What are some outcomes that you can share after the project is completed?===We will know that it was successful only by the attendance which I have no doubt in the number turn up if they hear about it they must attempt to use it trust me I know students being one myself.

If you’re not certain about how to respond to this question when starting your idea, you do not need to answer it right now. Campaign participants and Wikimedia Foundation staff can help you consider some options.
===Do you think you can implement this idea? What support do you need?===Yes I can execute the idea completely but I need assistance in finance for the hall and also refreshments and also in publicity and advertising too not forgeting the fact that resourced persons will need to be invited to further sencitize the students on the wikipedia experience

Do you need people with specific skills or resources to complete this idea? Are there any financial needs for this project? Do you need advising from Wikimedia Foundation staff?
==Get Involved== yes i need all of the above
