Grants:IdeaLab/Making Wikipedia Warm
Project idea
[edit]What is the problem you're trying to solve?
[edit]I would like solve the problem of current editors not being very warm and inviting to new contributors/editors.
What is your solution?
[edit]I feel like Wikipedia could attract more women if it's current editors were a bit more friendly to new editors. The current rules of Wikipedia content are being twisted to make other editors feel like their information is unwelcome. From my experience, current editors don't follow WP:ROWN guidelines very well and scare off a lot of new contributors/editors. Several editors like to twist the guidelines that Wikipedia has set forth to their benefit and tend to be close-minded when someone challenges them. We need more administration intervention into these issues. These things I believe will help to get more women, and people in general, involved in contributing to the content on Wikipedia.
