Project idea
[edit]What is the problem you're trying to solve?
[edit]How to renew the knowledge in human and social sciences, from the methodology view point (research, corpus building, analysis) as well as the way results are presented (master's thesis or doctoral thesis type), when using Wikimedia projects.
What is your solution?
[edit]- Develop the “Research” space on en.Wikiversity. Create online and collaborative research lab involving independent researchers who are not registered at university, nor at a research center, nor other attachment solutions.
- Give the Wikimedian researchers a working frame and coordinated means, so that their needs can emerge through a better visibility on their work. And more particularly when the authors/users are geographically dispersed. The challenge is also to expand the current avenues of research beyond the traditional university structures, while ensuring a scientific and methodological framework which is both valid and transparent.
- Think about the conditions to conduct «open research» in the open Content field, and in particular during the phase when a text is not yet declared as “completed” and the researcher's work needs a wide margin of confidentiality and should be shared only with the other members of its own research group.
Project goals
[edit]Such a project is in discussion with fr.Wikiversity and some experiments from the research work are in the making. From my part, the ultimate goal would be to fulfill my own thesis and, by the way, to give the Wikimedia projects some visibility in the Caribbean.
Get involved

Members from the Collectif Emmabuntüs and Société d'histoire 94120 Saint-George & Dalayrac are already involved in the project.
Expand your idea
[edit]Sure a grant from the Wikimedia Foundation help would make this idea happen. One or two meetings per year is necessary and we would like to meet each other and other Wikimedians at Wikimania, for example. We deeply need developpers among us. Those developpers must be familiar with the different scientifics methods of the different fields of research.
