Project idea
[edit]What is the problem you're trying to solve?
[edit]Local communities have a very large corpus of knowledge (about places, people, history) that has no place in wikipedia because it's not universally encyclopedical, but is very relevant to the place and could grow to a wikipedia entry.
What is your solution?
[edit]Allow local wikipedia namespaces/instances to spur for places, which can link to global wikipedia so that they increase value
Who will you be doing outreach with?

- I back this idea as an editor on the English Wikipedia who struggles to find sources on local histories in various towns and cities in my sphere of editing (currently Germany). Vami IV (talk) 04:37, 7 February 2017 (UTC)

- I think this is a great idea. I have lived in a few places, and each place I live, I really enjoy reading about new and local community info. I feel more engaged with the community or city where I live. I know that there is patch.com in the U.S., perhaps something like that? Miriya52 (talk) 21:07, 8 February 2017 (UTC)
- Local wikis and especially enriching local histories on wikipedia can do a lot for expanding knowledge. LondonMan (talk) 02:26, 12 February 2017 (UTC)
