Grants:IdeaLab/Inspire/Archive/Outside knowledge networks
The current Inspire Campaign is closed. You are welcome to continue providing feedback, improving ideas, and moving any ideas that need funding into grant applications. Note: Inspire Campaigns and IdeaLab are collaborative idea-building spaces to prepare proposals for Wikimedia Foundation grants and proposals for local Wikimedia projects. Ideas that require community consensus (such as policy changes) can be discussed and revised here, but must be proposed at the appropriate place in your local Wikimedia project to be implemented. |
Inspire Campaigns are month-long events to focus collaborative efforts on some of the most pressing challenges of the Wikimedia movement. Each campaign focuses on a unique theme and participation is open to everyone. Campaigns are hosted in IdeaLab, where participants can work together to solve problems, create partnerships and develop concrete solutions through project development. Grants are available to support events, research, community organizing, technical or other initiatives in need of funding. Let's turn ideas into collective action!
This campaign is focused on developing outside knowledge networks to support creation and improvement of content on Wikimedia projects. We invite your ideas on topics such as:
- Cooperative projects with institutions to improve Wikimedia projects: In addition to places like libraries and museums, partnerships with other organizations that are not as well represented in our movement – such as cultural centers, halls of fame, film societies, and volunteer organizations – are encouraged.
- Connections between institutions to work together with Wikimedians: Normally, projects involving institutions are relatively independent of one another, but can be more collaborative because each partnership is focused on improving Wikimedia project content.
- Inviting and helping experts participate in Wikimedia projects: Content experts have better access to sources and experience writing about topics in their discipline. When working with contributors, experts can develop higher quality content.
If you have ideas, please share them during the current campaign!
