Project idea
[edit]What Wikimedia project(s) and specific areas will you be evaluating?
[edit]Is this project measuring a specific space on a project (e.g. deletion discussions), or the project as a whole?
Review of Wikimedia Beta Tools like translation and Group and Social aspects of it. Improvements propositions
Describe your idea. How might it be implemented?
[edit]Provide details about the method or process of how you will evaluate your community or collect data. Does your idea involve private or personally identifying information? Take a look at the Privacy Policy for Wikimedia’s guidelines in this area.
Via the history of the pages and modifications, you can know that other people are interested in the same topic, and contribute and modify the same pages and articles you consult. The idea can be implemented pushing chats or giving stats or "review functionnality" between users, correctors, and modificators of a given page.
The whole idea would be based on a improvement of the "History of the page". making collaboration possible between humans in the "chat section".
Are there experienced Wikimedians who can help implement this project?
[edit]If applicable, please list groups or usernames of individuals who you can work with on this project, and what kind of work they will do.
N/A
>>> recoup information of potential interested users willing to mutualize work on a article/page/subject. Contact people/ Create group/Notify
How will you know if this project is successful? What are some outcomes that you can share after the project is completed?
[edit]The beta functions of wikipedia and the "mail" and "social functionalities" are growing so the ground is there... I will know the project is successul when people contributing to same topics/having sames interest and willing to contribute to wikipedia can meet online (chat) and cross contribute on some mutual. The outcome of this collaboration can be made through an achievement system (i:e:" this article has been created MUTUALLY by X,Y GROUP of Users"). i:e: the "xxx Group or XXX users contributed to this article" or : "this article is the work of xxx users" or "this article is the work of only one user: _name123." Create incentives and sense of recognition to make it a challenge for people to contribute freely on wikipedia.
How would your measurement idea help your community make better decisions?
[edit]After you are finished measuring or evaluating your Wikimedia project, how do you expect that information to be used to benefit the project?
Giving a idea can only improve the whole project (i.e Brainstorming)
My experience as an user of wikipedia is merely personal, but personal experience is the ground for improvement and can potentially interest other contributors.
Do you think you can implement this idea? What support do you need?
[edit]Do you need people with specific skills to complete this idea? Are there any financial needs for this project? If you can’t implement this project, can you scale down your project so it is doable?
Clearly, I cannot implement the proposition/idea alone. The realization of it implies coding and computing skills behing the wikimedia project. Again, i am only a contributor. My idea is only given in a "user" logic. I do not have the skills to implement or concretize the idea I give. Nevertheless, the idea is inspired by existing social media platforms. The skills is mainly computing skills.
Get Involved
[edit]About the idea creator
[edit]After I used wikipedia for years as a mean of information and documentation, i recently decided to create some new pages on wikipedia mainly via translating existing content, since I do not have the time nor pretention to write my own articles, since a ton of documentation already exist on the subjects in different languages.

- It makes a lot of sense, some sore of calling on the SME (Subject Matter Experts) to participate. I would add also it can be multi-lingual, many editors edit in more than one language, so if there are articles in Language A in domain XYZ and user John has a good history in them also in editing the same domain in Language B, his experience can be sought to enrich the content of the other language CerberuS (talk) 11:25, 21 July 2018 (UTC)
- Neutral Less apt for a grant, as this occurs spontaneously in all wiki's (free groups around specific categories and formalised groups in wikiprojects). --Havang(nl) (talk) 11:21, 28 July 2018 (UTC)
