Project idea
[edit]What is the problem you're trying to solve?
[edit]Once we have the data, then we can put together a distribution of women's contributions to Wikipedia based on their geographic location. This would give us a better idea of where in the world women edit the least number of articles.
What is your solution?
[edit]Whenever someone is editing an article or creating one (their first article) just simply ask them two questions: 1. Where do they live; 2. What is their gender. This would enable Wikipedia to compile information on users that edit Wikipedia articles. Once we have a clear understanding of the distribution of female contributors around the world, then if feasible, we can try to address the problem in countries with lower rankings.
