Grants:IdeaLab/Add a language option with a Matriarchal Touch to it
Appearance
The language used on wikipedia, though we consider it to be neutral , but it actually is not.
It follows a patriarchal structure of language and there is nothing wrong with it.
Why not introduce an alternative version of every article by adding this in the languages tab

[edit]What is the problem you're trying to solve?
[edit]I am trying to break the chains that exists in the main stream narration which is really very patriarchal
What is your solution?
[edit]Lets generate language translation by replacing the words which are very patriarchal so that when the user clicks on this tab on the languages tab he reads "Founding mother" , Mother of .... instead of father of or founding father

- Agree. Often an article from outside is seen like written in a patriarchal way or using an "old" language. I don't say that articles must have a feminist touch, but must be real and fair. A woman biography (notable for her own merit) must be told for what it is, an independent biography, not as appendix of a notable husband, father, brother or son. The words we choose say a lot of a biography and this influences the way in which the reader receives it. Camelia (talk) 16:42, 22 July 2018 (UTC)
