Learning and Evaluation

Learn about the reactions and key takeaways that participants had at the latest Learning Days at Wikimania in Cape Town. These outcomes tell us what the community found liked most, how we can improve in the future, and how they plan to apply what they learned. Check out the outcomes to see quotes from attendees about their experience, as well as posters, presentations, images, and more.

In the 16th issue of Learning and Evaluation's Learning Quarterly, we take a look at the latest events and activities in the world of L&E: the outcomes of Women in the Wikimedia Movement: Conversations with communities, results of Nichole Saad's visit to Education Programs in Asia, and much more. For more great Wiki stories, read the full newsletter here.

After combing through feedback forms from the latest edition of Learning Days, we have a glimpse into the experiences of Wikimedians during two days of learning, sharing, and collaboration. These outcomes tell us what the community found most useful at Learning Days, setting an example for what to continue and what to improve for the next round in Cape Town, this July 2018. Check out the outcomes to see quotes from attendees about their experience, as well as posters, presentations, images, and more.

In this blog, we learn about Nichole Saad's exciting experience visiting Education Programs in Nepal, India, and Taiwan to examine how the Wikimedia Foundation can better support Education Programs around the world, each with unique contexts and challenges to face. How can a new approach, called in-context support, shape our efforts to support Education Programs everywhere? Read the blog for more insight on what we learned from this journey.

In this blog, we discuss one of Community Engagement’s most exciting new projects – a series of conversations with women in the movement about their experiences working in Wikimedia projects. The discussions will be live virtual events, featuring women’s insights on their work in communities across the globe. Learn more about the events here.

Last year, we experimented with Community Engagement Insights—a comprehensive project to hear from Wikimedia contributors, and gather input to design Wikimedia Foundation programs and support. We are presenting the findings on Tuesday, October 10, at 9 AM PST. In this blog, we talk about the project, which included the Wikimedia contributor and communities survey. Read the report on line.
