परिचय

From 2012 to 2015, our team worked specifically on Wikipedia Zero partnerships across the Global South to address affordability as a barrier to access knowledge. Hence, we were called the Wikipedia Zero team. Wikipedia Zero has been invaluable to understand how to best accomplish our mission in the Global South. However, we have learned that Zero is only one way to address the many challenges we discovered. High data costs, lack of awareness, infrastructure limitations, digital literacy gaps need to be addressed by a broader scope of partnerships. Therefore, our name has changed to the Global Reach team. Please ask us any questions or leave any comments in our talk page, or email us: globalreach(_AT_)wikimedia.org.

हाम्रो आदर्श

We believe in free knowledge. We believe in the potential of human relationships to achieve great things. That’s why we are working to reach every single person on the planet. Wikimedia projects are widely known and used in the US and Europe, but only 30% of Wikipedia traffic comes from the Global South. We thrive to make sure almost 80% of the world’s population living in Asia, Africa, Latam and the Middle East can also share in the sum of all knowledge.

हाम्रा उदेश्यहरू

Our goal is to make all Wikimedia projects known, accessible, and widely used in the Global South. To learn more about what we are trying to accomplish, see below our quarterly goals.
