GLAM work has untapped potential when it is combined with different elements studying and preserving cultural heritage. Here are thoughts for novel collaboration formats, maybe some of them even exist. Link to examples or drafts!
New formats for co-creation[edit]
Hackathons are a traditional way with developers to work on new ideas. In the GLAM sector, there are also many possibilities to explore new questions and seek solutions, or just work together creatively.
Co-creation events[edit]
Examples of co-creation formats could include cultural hackathons, residencies for learners, GLAM camps.

WikiProject Med proposes they would be interested in collaborating with developers.[1]

Data visualizations[edit]
Many projects are interested in displaying information in more audio/visual ways. Wikipedia pages support visualizing data stored in Wikimedia Commons as data tables and a set of visualizations as well as maps.[1] Wikimedia's data is also open data that can be displayed in many ways using openly available tools anywhere on the net.

First Nations / Indigneous Australian cultural heritage such as place names, history and language is an area of focus for Wikimedia Australia where it is aiming to build partnerships to document diverse cultural protocols and history, how they differ across the country, and how they can mesh with Wikimedia policies and rules.[2]

Wikimedia Taiwan work with indigenous languages groups.[3] over 250 ethnical groups with their own language but almost nothing on the Wikimedia platforms. Working with collecting languages and words to build up a memory and communities. Involving other language organizations.[4]
